SME Seminar - “Managing Self, Managing Time”

(27 February 2020 at SUCCESS)

Effective time management is essential for both personal and professional lives. In this seminar, a human resources expert will offer advice on how to effectively manage time, including identifying of time wasters and how to eliminate them. The speaker will also introduce tools for time management in the workplace.

SMARTBiz Tech Day

(26 February 2020 at the Hong Kong Productivity Council)

This activity is organised by the Hong Kong Productivity Council.  SUCCESS is one of the supporting organisations.  The activity will introduce and showcase the latest technologies and technical solutions, such as 5G and digitalisation, and explore how they could help enterprises increase their competitiveness. (This activity will be conducted in Cantonese and Putonghua.)

Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales (BUD Fund)

 

BUD Fund provides funding support to individual non-listed Hong Kong enterprises in undertaking projects to develop brands, upgrade and restructure their business operations and promote sales in the Mainland and ASEAN* markets, so as to enhance their competitiveness and facilitate their business development in these markets. 

To further strengthen the support to local enterprises, TID is rolling out a new round of enhancement measures to the BUD Fund.  Enhancements include extending the geographical coverage of the Fund to all economies with which Hong Kong has signed Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)**; increasing the cumulative funding ceiling per enterprise to $4 million, including $2 million for projects in the Mainland and $2 million for projects in ASEAN and other FTA markets; increasing the ratio of initial payment from 25% to up to 75% of the total approved government funding; and will start to receive applications on 20 January 2020. 

The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) has been engaged as the implementation partner of the BUD Fund to implement the funding scheme.  Please contact the HKPC at 2788 6088 or visit the official website of the BUD Fund (www.bud.hkpc.org/) for details of the funding scheme.  The HKPC also regularly organises seminars at the Council (HKPC Building, 78 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong) in order to enhance enterprises’ understanding on the BUD Fund.  

* ASEAN comprises Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.

* *Including the Mainland, New Zealand, the four member states of the European Free Trade Association (i.e. Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland), Chile, Macao, Georgia and Australia.

Seminar on “The Technique of Staff Dismissal in the Mainland: Breakthrough to Zero Cost”

(22 January 2020 at Federation of Hong Kong Industries) 

This seminar is organised by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries.  The seminar will invite expert to share his practice experience and researches as well as judicial cases studies to assist enterprises to explore effective ways to lower the staff dismissal cost in the Mainland. (Admission fee is required.  This seminar will be conducted in Cantonese.)

 


Entrepreneurship Workshop on “Brand Building and Opportunities in China and Introduction of BUD Fund”

(25 February 2020 at HKTDC SME Centre)

This workshop is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.  At the workshop, guest speakers will share useful tips on brand development and marketing strategies in Greater Bay Area and the knowledge of IP protection in the Mainland, and also introduce the BUD Fund application procedures so as to help SMEs expand their business in the Mainland. (This workshop will be conducted in Cantonese.)

Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme 2020-2021 opens for application


The Scheme, organised by Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited and co-organised by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, is now open for applicaion.  The Scheme aims to encourage enterprises and organisations to adopt accessibility design for their websites and mobile apps to help everyone including persons with disabilities to enjoy the benefits of the Internet.  The closing date for application is 19 June 2020.
