What's New

 

"Meet-the-Advisors" Business Advisory Service


"Meet-the-Advisors" Business Advisory Service (BAS) of SUCCESS provides SMEs with general business advice in 25 specialty areas, such as setting up a business, marketing, legal, and accounting matters through free consultation sessions. SMEs encountering problems relating to the starting and running of a business can make use of the free BAS of SUCCESS, which will line up meetings for SMEs to consult experts for their professional advice.

To benefit more SMEs, SUCCESS has published on the SUCCESS website a BAS Case Book containing advice of BAS advisors accumulated over the years through providing guidance to SME operators, with an aim to provide ready and practical tips to SMEs for tackling their problems in common (currently available in Chinese version only). The BAS Case Book currently covers cases in the advisory areas of (i) marketing and corporate strategy; (ii) company structure, accounts management and taxation; and (iii) intellectual property rights. SUCCESS will continuously add in new cases and expand the scope of advisory areas covered.

"Automated Online Shopping and HKTV Mall Experience Mechanized Logistics" Seminar
(19 February 2019 at Hong Kong Productivity Council and HKTV Mall Tsing Yi logistics centre)

The seminar is organised by the Hong Kong Productivity Council. SUCCESS is one of the supporting organisations. In this digital age, Chatbots and automated logistics systems can effectively promote online shopping business. The seminar will invite guests to share new O2O retail strategies and ways to leverage on Chatbots, and also arrange participants to visit the HKTV Mall Tsing Li logistic centre to experience the new trends in logistics operations. (This seminar will be conducted in Cantonese)

 



2018/19 Hong Kong Sustainability Award


The award is organised by the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA). SUCCESS is one of the supporting organisations. The award aims to raise awareness of the business community of the importance of sustainability, and to give public recognition to organisations demonstrating a commitment to sustainability in their operation while achieving good organisational performance. The application deadline is 1 February 2019.

 

Enhancements of the Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales (BUD Fund)


Since 1 August 2018, the Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales (BUD Fund) has been enhanced to strengthen support to enterprises in exploring new markets and new business opportunities.

The “ASEAN Programme” under the BUD Fund has been launched to provide funding support to individual non-listed Hong Kong enterprises for enhancing their competitiveness and furthering business development in the ASEAN market.  Enterprises could obtain a maximum funding of $1 million on a matching basis for projects aiming to develop the ASEAN markets.  In addition, the cumulative funding ceiling per enterprise for the current “Mainland Programme” under the BUD Fund has been doubled to $1 million.  A summary of the enhancement measures is at table below.

Open to applications all year round

The “Mainland Programme” and “ASEAN Programme” of the BUD Fund are open to applications all year round.  Applications will be considered by batches.  The batch cut-off dates for 2019 are 29 March, 28 June, 30 September and 31 December.

To enhance enterprises’ understanding on the BUD Fund, the Programme Secretariat regularly organises seminars in HKPC (HKPC Building, 78 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong).  Upcoming event for February 2019 is as follows:

The Intellectual Property Department (IPD), supported by the Law Society of Hong Kong, now provides FREE One-On-One IP Consultation Service for SMEs.
